Welcome to the Friends of Orthodoxy on Iona web site

The Friends of Orthodoxy on Iona began in 1997, the fourteenth hundred anniversary of the repose of Saint Columba, as an informal group of Orthodox believers which organises pilgrimages to Iona and other sites.

The Friends are dedicated to venerating the memory of Saint Columba and his community and praying that God's Will be done on the holy island.

Christians from other traditions are always welcome to participate in our pilgrimages.

Patrons
His Eminence Archbishop Gregorios of Thyateira and Great Britain (Ecumenical Patriarchate) The Right Reverend Bishop Basil of Amphipolis The ever-memorable Metropolitan Anthony of Souorzh and Metropolitan Gabriel of thrice mercy of the Antiochian diocese of Western and Central Europe were former patrons before their repose in the Lord. __________________________________________________________________________________
